Polar FT4F Heart Rate Monitor Watch REVIEWS

Polar FT4F Great Value
I had an older Polar heart rate monitor watch and the battery imbedded in the transmitter died. Instead of spending so much to replace the transmitter I decided to buy a new watch instead. I love it. It was very easy to set up and this new one has a replaceable battery. The price was great and I am a very happy customer. I have recommended this to several people.

Polar FT4F Helpful
This is the first time I have used a heart rate monitor while working out. I liked that it provided more than just the heart rate and I felt that it was accurate. I was even able to swim with it on and keep track of my entire work out.

Polar FT4F just what I was looking for... GREAT FOR CALORIE COUNTING
I am beyond thrilled with this heart rate monitor and its accuracy, especially the calorie counting.

I had initially purchased the Timex T5G971 Unisex Sports Personal Heart Rate Monitor Watch that came HIGHLY recommended by so many. Even a random customer had recommended it when I went to best buy to buy it. I was so excited to use it but then realized that it was beyond inaccurate... it was giving me a high heart rate and telling me I was burning 1000 calories from a 30 min. bike ride... and my favorite that I burned 130 calories from sitting for 30 min. I am not fitness expert, but this was an obvious and HUGE inaccuracy... and this is a big problem, especially if one is calorie counting. So, this watch had to go. I decided to give this a try after researching some more about heart rate monitors and how calorie counting works. What the timex watch was missing was the crucial values for calorie counting of age, sex, weight, and if I remember correctly, height that this watch has. This watch automatically determined my heart rate zones, and I didnt have to mess around with anything. I was able to program this watch straight out of the box, versus the timex, where the user interface was so damn complicated, I had to get my computer programming husband to figure out how to program the watch!

I have been using this watch for about 3 weeks now and it has been giving me very accurate heart rate readings and calorie counting (200 calories for a 20-30 min bike ride to work is just about right! not 1000!) Furthermore, the band is not-uncomfortable, and is rather seamless. And this watch does a great job keeping out with m fluctuating heart rate as I bike ride to work, whereas the timex did not. I bike down busy NYC streets and I am stopping and going, slowing down and going fast and this watch keeps up! I have alot of trust and confidence for the readings this watch gives me!

Polar FT4F Heart Rate Monitor Watch Great Price
You can't beat the price for this monitor, which offers a number of great features at a reasonable price. Pros include:
* user replaceable batteries in the watch and the monitor. This is a huge plus when you consider how much it costs to get the batteries replaced by sending them away.
* nice visual indicator of target zones.
* system allows you to choose between displaying as a percentage of your of your max heart rate, or as beats per minute.
* shows your average heart rate and max heart rate after your workout.
* Saves your last 10 workout histories, to show you time in your target zone.
* nice fabric chest strap.
I don't use the calorie counter or use it underwater, so I can't comment on these.
All in all, you get a lot of features and a replaceable battery for a great price.

Polar FT4F Heart Rate Monitor Watch Great Product, Easy to operate
I just started working out at a gym. I enjoyed doing the cardio fitness classes like Zumba and Kickboxing. Having a HRM helps me evaluate how effective my workouts are. I've been researching for about a month or so. I wanted to find a product that works effectively, but didn't necessarily want to buy a very expensive HRM as I'm "new" to working out/training. I saw this watch that had great ratings and was on sale, so I bought it. I use it with the electrode gel. It works very well. I have no complaints so far.

Polar FT4F Heart Rate Monitor Watch Worth every penny!
This is my first HRM I've ever bought but I'm convinced that Polar made this thing really well. It does everything I need it to which is simply to show me where my HR is and to know if I'm in a safe zone. I love that you can customized your target zone so that you are working optimally. My goal is to have a bigger and stronger heart instead of burning fat so this HRM really lets me work not too hard and obviously not too easy. Another thing is that I am more pushed to keep working hard if I'm working out by myself. The beeps tell me if I need to keep going. However, the beeps that say I'm out the zone is more quiet than I expected, so if you like working out with headphones, be sure to regularly check if you're still in the zone. Another problem I had was the chest strap. I sweat a lot which sometimes causes the strap to slowly slip and I would have to constantly have to adjust it. It can get annoying but I find that the good definitely outweighs the bad. The back lighting button to check it when it's dark is a bit faint as well but hopefully no one is actually working out in the dark! I often still wear it as one of my watches with casual clothes. Also, I'm trying not to lose weight because I'm quite slim so I pay close attention to my calories burned during cardio workouts to know how much more I should eat. So really, this thing has helped me stay motivated and on top of my routine. I have not had it long enough to know how long the battery and device life lasts (it's been about 2 months) but overall I've been very happy with it. Again, this is my first HRM and all I needed was something simple and very usable and this is it!

Polar FT4F Heart Rate Monitor Watch Fantastic product
I got this for my birthday, and I use it all the time. It's very helpful to be aware of my heart rate and the amount of calories I have burned during my workout. Overall, great product! I love it!
